Fresh from the farm

See what we are picking right now, then stop by the farm store to bring home the best of the season.

What's fresh this week

Every item shown below is currently available. Popular produce can sell out during the day, so come early for the best selection.

PEAK SEASON
Strawberries
From our patch behind the barn. We pick at sunrise so they're cold when they hit the stand. Best eaten within 48 hours.
IN SEASON
Peaches
Soft-fleshed and juicy. Eat them over the sink.
IN SEASON
Sweet corn
Picked the same morning you buy it. Eat it that day if you can.
IN SEASON
Cucumbers
Slicing cucumbers and the smaller pickling kind. We bring a fresh bin out around 11am.
IN SEASON
Green beans
Snapped fresh into bushel baskets. Sold by the pound.
IN SEASON
Garlic
Hardneck garlic, with the scapes still on a few of them. Stores well in a paper bag in the cupboard.
IN SEASON
Blueberries
Big plump berries from the bushes off the south field. Sweeter than the grocery-store kind, which isn't a high bar but still.
IN SEASON
Cantaloupe
Heavy for their size and smell like cantaloupe before you even cut them. That's the test.
IN SEASON
Tomatoes
Slicing tomatoes and romas in the bins. The heirlooms come in next month.
IN SEASON
Zucchini
Small to medium ones, which are the ones worth eating. We pull them before they turn into baseball bats.
IN SEASON
Beets
Roots and greens both. Don't throw the tops away, they're better than spinach.
LIMITED
Cherries
Dark sweet cherries by the pint. They don't last more than a couple days in the basket so plan accordingly.
IN SEASON
Watermelon
Black Diamond variety. Deep green rind, dark red flesh, fewer seeds than you'd expect. We've grown this one for years.
IN SEASON
Bell peppers
Green, red, and yellow. The red ones aren't dyed, they just stayed on the plant longer.
IN SEASON
Summer squash
Yellow crookneck and pattypan. Cooks down quick on the grill with a little salt.
IN SEASON
Onions
Yellow and red, and a handful of sweet whites when we have them.
